The Camp:
Camp Orca is a week-long overnight camp for girls and boys entering grades 2-12. It is located on 150 acres on the western shore of Summit Lake,16 miles west of Olympia, Washington.

The location known as Camp Thunderbird offers an array of camping options, from tent sites to Adirondacks. Campers will be with trained counselors and other campers of the same gender and age group.

The Adventure
: Camp Orca offers a traditional, age-appropriate youth-driven camp program that includes cookouts, hiking, canoeing, creative dramatics, swimming, archery, games and crafts.

Camp Staff and Staff In Training (SITs) Program

Our SIT program is the first step in preparing youth entering the 10th grade to become staff members the following year. It begins during the regular camp session and provides a good balance of training time and traditional camper activities. At the end of the camp week, SITs get the chance to put into practice all of what they have learned when they are assigned to a group on Friday!

The following spring SIT participants who hope to become staff the summer entering their junior year will attend a day-long continued training. After completing the SIT program, youth entering 11th grade can apply to become Counselor Assistants.

Interested in the SIT program? Please fill out the camper registration.

Youth entering their senior year of high school and adults 18 years and older may serve as Counselors or Program Staff.

Interested in volunteering? Please contact the camp director for more information 253-597-6234.
